Designed for environments where both fire safety and noise immunity are mandatory, the 5400FE is Plenum (CMP) rated. This ensures the cable meets strict low-smoke and flame-spread regulations, allowing for safe, code-compliant deployment in air-handling spaces like drop ceilings and raised floors without the requirement for metallic conduit.
The cable features two 20 AWG stranded bare copper conductors. This gauge is particularly advantageous for applications where voltage drop needs to be minimized—such as longer cable runs to electronic strikes, magnetic locks, or high-draw sensors—without the bulk and rigidity of 18 AWG wire. To prevent performance degradation from electromagnetic interference (EMI), the cable is encased in a 100% coverage Beldfoil® aluminum foil-polyester tape shield. This provides a critical barrier against ambient electrical noise, ensuring that control signals remain precise and reliable.
